Following my thread being closed, just wondering what current cams you guys have bought recently and how they rate...

(Plus as the this thread is over 200 pages long and started in 2012, I couldn't see how else to get to the most recent page on my Android phone! smile )

Just been listening and looking at these as a potential replacement for my unreliable Mobius 2 - might go and look at one in Halfords over the weekend.
I had one for about a year. Was really good while I had it, very good quality footage. The originally black ring around the camera lens went a more conspicuous gold-ish colour with sunlight, which wasn't a massive problem. However, after about a year's reliable service it died completely. No signs of life apart from a permanent blue LED. Could have been the battery or maybe it was my cheap hardwire kit that killed it (don't think it was, however, as the same hardwire kit is powering my new camera).

ETA: Ignore me, I am talking about the 512G, just realised the GW is an entirely different model smile

I imagine a lot of the G and GW will be similar.

The Mobius 1 has been solid and reliable and is still doing good service after several years. The 2 has been somewhat unreliable irked

Does anyone have any experience of these?

Liking the fairly concealed design.

Has anyone got any thoughts on the Nextbase 212 Lite? It seems to have the features I want but I don't know if there's anything better for a similar price (£64) or if it's worth spending a bit more on a different cam.

Decided to give the A119 V2 camera a go - https://www.amazon.co.uk/VIOFO-Capacitor-Novatek-D...

Seems to get favourable reviews in a lot of places, and I like the small form factor, which makes it a little more discreet.

It is!

I'm guessing you'd need a good (i.e. 1.5amp or higher) power supply though.

Looks promising. Arrived with the latest firmware too.

Looks neat Podie, would like to hear your review as I'm after a tiny dashcam and this looks pretty small. Did you go for the gps version? What connector wires are there?

Yep, the bulky bit is the GPS unit. It has a mini USB connector.

Will fit it later this week.

ETA - fitted today. Took longer to remove the old mount, than install this one. hehe

Simple to fit (I already had a hardwired kit with Mini USB) and setup.

Spunked the extra £13 and got the polarising filter. A quick look on the screen shows no reflections - so I'm happy with that.

Anyone got any views on the Innovv K1?

Had my bike written off last month by a woman whose insurance is trying to claim 50/50 after she turned into me.

Quite like the idea of buying this with extra cameras for the car and just swapping the recording unit between the next bike and the car.

Also after a tiny cam.

Clicking on podie's link showed this one in the customers also buy section. Seems very small and lots of good reviews. Will be reading through them later as tempted.

Anyone come across this one already? Opinions?

I quite liked the idea of the Innovv C3, but never got round to buying one.

Download https://dashcamviewer.com and checked out the A119 footage. Pretty happy with the camera - so much so, we've just ordered one for Mrs Podie's daily driver.

Bought one of these but the SD Card is always empty. Have formatted it multiple times using the formatter in Windows and VioFo tool. The unit seems to be recording but no files on the SD Card. Lots of talk about not using SanDisk SD Cards so I'm using a Samsung 64GB 10x card. Any clues?

Dash cams can be very fussy about memory cards. When the first 0801 was out it was recommended not to use anything above Class 4. Then Class 10 was recommended after an update. Do you have a spare 32Gb card you can try (from your phone for instance?) as some cameras seem to be picky with 64Gb cards.

Sandisk Ultra use a certain type of chip that Dashcams don't like. Lexar 633x and Transcend are far happier.

I put the card into the camera, formatted it and it's worked fine.

OK thanks for that, just tried the Sandisk Ultra 32GB Micro HC I x10 from my phone and that works!

So looks like it doesn't like my new Samsung 64GB Evo+ XC I.

Will get a Lexar or Transcend one instead then.

I'm using a Lexar 633x 128GB. Are you on the latest firmware?
