Tracker too if you can afford it, but the above 2 should be ok. With the Ghost, they cant take the car, even with your car keys.

If somebody takes my keys, they're taking my (insured) car, I don't want them coming back a 2nd time, only pretty pee'd off this time.

Trouble with any of these systems the weak link is the owner; I know of someone who had a brand new R32 on the drive and was awakened to a knife across the throat, would you be able to say no

Whats considered to be the best ? Disklock ?.........YES

or is there anything better out there ?..............NO.....IMO.
Disklok can be overcome by a determined tooled up thief but will take time.

I own 2 BTW.

Err this is Pistonheads, we like to have cars.
I know.
But my deterrent is still the best, it's 100% successful.

I can only think of a high-end car alarm but someone above said if someone wants to take your car and experienced enough, they might just get away with it. Steering wheel locks should work too but I want to also recommend a dedication GPS tracker. It might not be a deterrent but as long as it is working, you will be sure to get your car back.

I once bought a used Ferrari 355, the previous owner had fitted 2 trackers. His theory being that the thieves know that any Ferrari will have a tracker so they need to find and disable it ASAP. Would they have thought to look for the second device tho?

Wired in with a "normally closed" relay that opens when the ignition is on so you aren't transmitting really bad singing of Adele songs.

The first night I had one, I came out 10 times with a 4 foot screwdriver and realized it was far too sensitive so i put it under the seat face down.

I could clearly hear an couple arguing in their car parked 5 spaces away.

If you're really lazy, get one with talkback.

A baby monitor is a very old school way of preventing theft. Excellent for bikes in garages where thieves have time to work on the locks under cover.

Disklok, or better Dipol/Mul-T-lock, or both. Former for deterrent and latter for prevention. From time to time we hear about Diskloks being easily removed, but I am yet to see it or hear of anything more than forum-chatter.

A friend keeps his bikes in his garage, after the first one was stolen, the thieves cut the bolt for the padlock. When he got his next bike he fitted (internal side) locking "dead bolts" all the way around, the thieves just cut a door into the garage door. Yes the bike was padlocked to a concreted in eye bolt (both times), they just cut that as well.

After having a cheap as chips Golf R stolen by them breaking into my house if I owned something really expensive (F1, Zonda, etc.) I think I couldn't store it at my house, I'd have to pay for it to be stored somewhere with 24 hour security. If they are prepared to break into my house to steal my Golf when I have a fairly unfriendly dog (I've had delivery people refuse to come to the front door even with the dog clearly and safely shut in the front room) with me and the family asleep upstairs, I dread to think what they would be prepared to do for something valuable.
