Obviously as more people use Waze a new problem is occurring.

Slow uncertain drivers using it.

A number of times now I have been approaching gridlock and Waze is saying turn here now.

But that Honda Jazz is turning too.

Waze then finds an amazing route of back alleys and rat runs to get round the problem but you are stuck at 10mph as the Jazz in front is also using it but hesitating at every turn.

I effing hate Honda Jazz cars. Almost all are driven by morons.

I have been using Waze for quite a while now and would echo the thoughts around sometimes it can send you down a rat run with multiple speed bumps to save you 10 seconds.

However overall it is an extremely useful (free) app. Its nice to see it evolve over time too. Of special note for me is driving in Europe, especially France. The French are really being hounded with speed and laws around radar/camera detectors. Waze gets around these laws quite elegantly (notifying you of a “safety zone” where a speed camera will be located over a few kms of peage). It has saved me more times than I can remember. Its also been a God send for navigating round Paris/Peripherique which can be a real nightmare if getting past Paris is part of your 1000km journey to the south. Now we don’t pay additional charges for data in Europe Waze makes even more sense.

I'm not sure if it has already been said but Google bought Waze a while ago, so it is likely that the underlying data/maps is shared or the same.
Thanks, I did know that. Waze has recommended different routes to Google maps for me in the past though

Has anyone else noticed that Police Spee Traps disappear very quickly after they’ve been reported. I wonder if the Police are giving a thumbs down to keep them hidden

It is hugely reliant on user input. Was in Copenhagen, and it got the traffic massively wrong. Must be big Chinese Walls between Waze and Google.
