I was looking for a combination 12v 22inch TV and DVD player for a motor home. It seems the only ones that are available are real super-cheap no name rubbish.

A bit of research suggests (and correct me if I'm wrong) that most small (22 inch or less) TVs are 12v. Although they say 240v, they have an adaptor that drops the power to 12v so if you bypass that, you have 12v TV. That opens up a better range of TV, but most don't have DVD.

Right next to where the TV is to be fitted is a car type single DIN stereo. So I figured, buy a stereo that plays DVDs, swap it over, connect to TV, problem solved (and probably a better sized TV than the combi ones too - bit slimmer and lighter).

Thing is, I can't find any single DIN stereos that play DVD except really cheap nasty no name units. So I'm back to square one. Plenty of double DIN with a screen but I don't want one of those.

I'm sure Pioneer, Sony etc used to do them, have they all stopped?

Perfect, that's exactly the kind of thing, thank you.

Have you considered ripping all your DVD's to a computer external hard drive and playing those DVD's directly from the hard drive with a laptop?
