Aftermarket radio help

I have a 1999 Nissan Micra. It's old but is doing me proud!! I am currently learning to drive with an instructor and isn't long till my test 🙈. My question is that I have an aftermarket stereo which the CD player works and speakers work fine but when the radio is on there is no sound. There is movement on the front but that's it. Just wondered if it's something with the stereo it's self or the aerial maybe. It's not a major issue I know but sometimes prefer listening to the radio! Will be grateful for any advise given.

I'm guessing the aerial isn't connected. Hopefully the until just pulls out so that you can check.

Are you trying to listen on DAB or FM?

Your aerial probably won't support DAB so try on FM.

Thanks for the replies. Everything is connected on the back of the stereo and I'm only trying the local fm station, we have tried BBC stations too but no luck 🤔 thanks for the good luck!
