Boxster PCM upgrade
Discussion
Hope someone can help me out here, I currently own a Boxster 987 3.2S on a 54 plate, with Bose speakers, Porsche have assured me that my factory fitted unit is a PCM2, I’m having somewhat of a problem finding out if the Clarion NX807E is compatible with my car as a aftermarket unit.
Any advice, or who to contact will be greatly appreciated 👍

If you have Bose (and you want to keep it), you will need this adaptor to convert the output of the Clarion to be compatible with the MOST fibre optic system.

This is about £150, so adds a bit of cost of the install. It is still a lot cheaper than ripping out the Bose amp and replacing with a complete new system, and it is easy to reverse if you want to return it to factory in the future.
Despite all of the negativity about the Bose system, I think it sounds good enough for a car like the Boxster, witth a small cabin and a soft-top. I am sure you could get a better sound by going for aftermarket amps/speakers, but it is a lot of cost and hassle.
