Lacks the elegance of the Tvr version. At the Tvr main meets, really did look/sound good.

Only Trident Venturer I've ever seen was sat by the side of a motorway, looking a bit forlorn.

Everything about that is Hideous when compared to the original.
Bill Last should have been shot before he could inflict such vandalism on a beautiful design!!
It looks exactly what it is.. A stolen design poorly remade in fibreglass and stuck on the first chassis available...

The TVR Original is a beautiful car if you remember the year it was designed and against the other cars of that era.
It will soon be back out at shows and hopefully at the season finisher along with another one so a chance to see both together again a very rare occurrence.
I saw it last week apart in having a new coat of paint and this time in its original Alfa Red which they could not find when it was first restored plus some other details which could not be done right back then so should be looking absolutely stunning.

All very subjective. I prefer the later car and always thought the original car was a little “thin looking”.

I know nothing about these cars really but from the photo's the TVR version does look elegant and very 60's Italian / Ferrari ...esque. Where as the blue car looks a bit more 60's Welsh, very Gilbern Invader ...esque.

That is a bit harsh. I do not necessarily disagree about the look of the car and the engineering, but Bill was very good to me when I was a spotty teenager with a very bent Grantura mk2 (I had stuffed it into the front of a bus) He supplied all the necessary bits to repair it at trade prices, including a half chassis, second hand repaired bonnet etc. However, the most trusting thing was he lent me his adjustable reamer (for the bushes in the chassis which took the VW suspension arms) and just said bring it back when you have finished - note he did not ask for a deposit; and this was in the 1960's so probably was worth several hundred pounds.
As you might imagine I had a lot of time for Bill although he may have been an honest rogue.

Thanks Andrew, I can tell you that during the rebuild I had many laughs with Bill and his antics in fact I could probably write a book. For instance, when I went to pick up the half chassis in my (t)rusty Standard 10 pick up I took my Stepfather with me for the ride (I lived some 30 miles from Woodbridge). On arrival, Bill told me the chassis was stored at his farm in Charsfield, now as the truck only had two seats and he did not want to return to the works in Woodbridge, he promptly jumped in the back of the truck and said "I will give you directions through your window". I can tell you his barn contained so many lovely goodies I nearly had an orgasm. Mustangs, various TVR's, MG's, TR's etc.
My Grantura still exists in the capable hands of Trevor Cooke, but that is another story and I have not been in touch with Trevor for many years and I am not sure if he survived his illness, and whether his son now owns it.

Opens the doors to the new owner to invites to some of the most exclusive shows and events for the price of an e type Jag which are two a penny and seen everywhere.
Cheap exclusivity.

One or 2 harsh words above but in the family we had a Clipper, a Venturer & a Gilbern, all here. And we seriously enjoyed them. It is easy to pick holes but they gave a lot of pleasure.
