Black box

Hi,
So he lad has his test today.
My question is whether it is possible to buy and fit your own blackbox - ie not associated with an insurance company?
I'm not keen on him having a box, but MrsW is - so would be a good compromise.

Anyone got any ideas / insight?

Not a black box but you can get trackers that do what you want. I.e. report over speed, location etc etc.

My friends have fitted a couple of dash cams to their sons car. Dad has said he is going to randomly check it, if he finds it’s been in plugged or footage missing he is going to take the car away


The car is fully funded by parents and they are trying to prevent him splatting into a wall.

Irony is the dad was an absolute monster behind the wheel and still is!
