I have found an answer to a near-perennial problem I have had with my cars (Porsche 996, Boxster 986 and 987) which is that they don't connect simply to Garmin or Waze navigation systems and getting the nav' system's spoken commands (turn right at next roundabout, etc) to play through the in-car radio/music player is a tortuous maze of expensive add-ons. Listening to the commands from an iPhone using Waze is difficult when the road and engine noise level is high.

Having recently gained a pair of Apple Air Pods which pair by Bluetooth with an iPhone the answer leapt out at me; use Waze on the iPhone and have the spoken commands come via the in-ear Air Pods. It's amazing. The Air Pods are set in transparent mode or with noise cancellation off, and the spoken Waze command sound volume is plenty loud enough. I can play music through the phone as well and leave the crummy in-car Becker radio/CD/music player well alone.

Do other Pistonhead's ear-bud users think the same?
