In 2002 or thereabouts I bought a single-DIN Sony Minidisc head unit for my Fiat Punto. That definitely played MDLP discs; this was a very handy feature in the car as I could cram 4 albums onto each Minidisc, this saving space and reducing the number of times I had to swap discs!

A quick trawl through Google photos suggests that the model number was MDX-CA680X.

I did briefly consider fitting it to my own Capri, but couldn't bring myself to cut the dash panel to accommodate it.

(Must have a look in the attic and see if I've still got it. Knowing my luck I'll have either the unit or the detachable faceplate, but not both...)

Theyre the original 80min disc, Made by Sony and sold in Japan as the 80m Prism Long Time. biggrin

Not sure how I missed this thread but I too refuse to acknowledge the demise of minidisc, hoping to pickup a changer at some point.
