I am not sure if this has been done before on here.

I am thinking of purchasing a dashcam.

Ideally, one with front and rear cameras.

Nextbase seem to have excellent reviews, Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a dashcam please?

I have a Blackvue 750S with a rear camera. I had it installed five years ago and it works well; I briefly had a Qvia before it which was terrible, so the installer swapped it out. It's wired in to a power manager so it works in parking mode. I don't use the car much so I need to use a trickle charger every couple of months. The Blackvue failed a couple of weeks ago so is back with the UK distributor for repair - they offer a fixed price service for £40. I'd happily have their latest model if/when the current one becomes unrepairable, or is significantly superseded.

I've had Nextbase in the past and they just work well. Easy to get footage off (we have them in work vehicles as well). I need to get another one so will properly get a Nextbase again (on offer on the website at the moment if buying a front and rear).

Finally got round to getting one. Went for Nextbase as I mentioned. Worth noting that they have an offer on currently and Halfords will price match so can collect it straight away.

Got my girlfriend one as well. Front and rear one for her was £109 (plus £25 for a hard wire kit).

Is Black vue worth the premium over Nextbase? They’re a fair bit more.

From my experience, yes.

It's been done but obviously tech moves on...

I've used Aukey DR02 units in my cars for some time, very basic features but good quality footage.

I'm looking to update them though, Costco had one on offer recently that looks OK for the money.

My Nextbase 320 has suddenly gone fuzzy on the front recordings, but the rear is still sharp.
The filesize is still the same, i.e. 150,000 Kb for 2 minutes.

Anyone know what's going on!? Help much appreciated.

The lens may have moved, possibly from getting hot.

Is Blackvue still the best recommendation for a higher end dash cam? How is the software?

I've got a Nextbase 622GW and find it infuriating, and I'd like to find a replacement before I end up throwing it in the fire!

I went out to the car the other night to find that it had turned itself permanently on, but had simultaneously failed to record anything for six weeks! It's taken hours to update the firmware, and it's so unreliable to connect that I've lost all faith in it now.

I'm happy to spend more on the Blackvue if it is worth it, but am also quite tempted by some of the cheap Chinese units that have got good reviews. I just want something that is reliable.

I have a pair of these in my car, dead easy to install and connect together wirelessly to give front and rear. You can add two more to give left and right if you want to.

A bump on this - Dad is looking for a forward facing dashcam.

Most important aspect is ease of use - nothing complicated in terms fo turning on, accessing, using etc - just need to work!

Budget - hopefully sub £100.

What's current best recommendation?

I have an older Blackvue that was around £350-£400 when I bought it 5+ years ago. Not long after I bought some Yi dashcams for <£40 and the image quality has been great, they have been faultless with no corrupt files and no battery problems that the Nextbases all seem to be crippled by.

I've upgraded most of our cars to the Yi Nightscape dashcam (around £65, but sometimes as low as £27) which is a step up in low light recording and has the added advantage of using a capacitor rather than a battery. The Yi's are occasionally available on Amazon, but they now seem to sell direct.

I think I know the answer, but are the cheap af Goodyear branded ones any good?
