Tom Tom 500 Question - How do I speed up satellite search?

I have a Tom Tom 500 that takes age to pick up a signal - c.2mins.

Besides having it fully charged is there any reason why it takes so long, and what can i do to speed it up?

We dont have satellites in Dorset....

Try getting satellite lock outside of the car in the open away from tall buildings , how long does it take ? also try resetting your tom tom there is a little button underneath at the front , oddly enough marked reset , give that a stab with a pen.

Have you done an update, I'm sure there is something in the last one that speeds it up hugely, Go to TomTom Plus services on your TomTom and then select Check for updates (or something like that!) It will tell you if there is a newer version Which you can easily download using a PC from the TomTom Web site
