Having done "some" homework on this subject, I'm considering the install of a Valentine 1 and a Road Angel Plus.

The Road Angel Plus seems (IMO) to be the most comprehensive of the GPS units but still lacks the radar.

Out of the other radar / laser units I've looked at, the Valentine seems to be the one that offers the most granularity in terms of band analysis / proximity to object etc.

My other consideration was a Snooper S6 which is integrated GPS, Radar and Laser.

Has anyone found the right mix and match of GPS / Radar and Laser?
Thanks

Has anyone ever had a radar or laser warning go off and reacted in time to save themselves?

Seems to me that unless you detect scatter off of another target there is little hope. When plod points the gun at you and pulls the trigger that is when the laser is active so he has you in that second.

I have camera sites on my TomTom which even tell me common places for mobile traps but I have to admit I usually only slow down for the fixed sites. I would think the camera database/nav is the best way to deal with cameras if only I took notice.

Thanks for your comment. I realise that if they've locked onto you there's nothing you can do.. However, the Valentine system seems to be excellent in scatter mode so there's a good chance that you'd get some warning - as long as it's someone else they've got in their sites. I've been sitting on the fence for a while so I think I'll just take the plunge and see how I get on.
Cheers

might as well go the whole hog and go for something that interrupts the plods signal. by accident of course! there is a laser product that is used to measure distance, for parking reasons, but it does a great job of acidentally jamming plod signals
