I believe you can import Autoroute .axe files into TomTom units, but does anyone know if you can do the same with Nuvis ? I can't seem to find anything on the net to suggest it can be done.

You can't import them directly, but there is a utility available that will allow you to convert any waypoints created for a route in Autoroute in to a format that can then be used in your Nuvi. As you are probably aware the Nuvi limits you to just one 'via' point for any route, so if your Autoroute journey involves several waypoints you need to navigate to each in turn to follow the route.

I have also found that the Nuvi will often suggest a route between waypoints that differs to the route suggested by Autoroute. If you want to follow a specific route, it pays to compare how the Nuvi simulates a journey between waypoints and if it differs massively to the Autoroute journey, tweak the waypoints as necessary.

The utility I use is called ITNConverter, and can be downloaded from this website http://benichougps.blogspot.com/

ETA Have a look on the PocketGPSworld forum, there's lots of help to be had over there. If I recall correctly, it's where I first found mention of this little utility.
