Has anyone tried the new tomtom version 7 application ?

I keep getting the emails about the latest software for my 710, so downloaded the latest bits today.
First problem, the new application, version 7, is 11Mb, 2Mb more than version 6.
I had less than 1Mb of space on the 710, so deleted the 3Mb canary islands map
I've now put the new V7 application on, but the 710 wont fire up, once I've disconnected from the PC.
Fortunately I've backed up, and the old application works fine.
Has anyone successfully loaded the new version yet including map share etc ?

I've upgraded my Go 510 to the new software and it works just fine. I had a lot of spare room on the card, though.
One thing to note - unless you've got the very latest maps, Mapshare won't work. Mine are the ones that came with the unit, and although the menu option is there it gives an error message if I press it.

Thanks.. Every time I connect to tomtom home, it gives me the upgrade option, so it's now sent me 4 copies of the version 7 application.
The latest one has loaded OK. I can only presume the other 3 weren't downloading properly for some reason.
I've now got the map share option, but as you say, I've got the old maps, so that doesn't work.

Is he saying yards or meters ?
Also, before I buy the latest maps, any idea what you gain with map share ?
I presume you can get amended updated when there's road closures etc ?
I couldn't help notice that the new application shows as being 11.2MB but once it's installed it shows as 10.7MB
