Just noticed this when I started up Home to get the Quick Fix update. Little popup saying would I like to provide anonymous data. Naturally I clicked No, not that it matters or anything as I've been particularly good recently, because it's Xmas and I've only got half a licence left.

Should I be worried?

/gets tinfoil

Edit - I know my TT wont transmit GPS data, more if there was logging on the chip or anything

Have you subscribed to tomtom plus ?

If so, I'm guessing the question is..... Do you mind uploading information from your tomtom unit.

I'm guessing a load of units all stuck on a road not moving, would indicate traffic.

I've no doubt there's other sinister uses for it aswell smile

No, I thought about ging for the traffic and cameras but I've got alternatives for both already. It was a popup on the Home application. Dont know how they'd do it

It probably just means giving them some marketing data (name, age, income group etc) next time you connect the TT to the internet.

No. It's just collecting data about travel times, if you believe what they say. Anyway, you don't put that marketing data on your Tom Tom device, nor into TT Home, so they couldn't pick that up (and they can already send spam to your email address which you have to use for registration of the device). But like many, I too have declined to let them collect it - I'd like to see something from them for a change (like the latest map guarantee), not just one way.
