Satnav over odometer.

I can get the screen mount of my Garnin Nuvi200 to stick on the plastic in front of my speedometer.
I now have the same info only more accurate and navigation equipment.
Has anyone else tried this?
How would plod respond?

I would argue that I glance down and up from straight ahead rather than turn my head to the side.

Have any car manufacturers placed nav displays within the binnacle?

Being as a working speedo is not an MOT requirements, don't see the problem.
