Will my Tom Tom work ok in the USA??

Has any one used their TomTom in the States? I'm going on a driving holiday round Washington and Oregon State in June. Do I need a download that covers the US or just the State were driving in?

Suggest you check out the TomTom site to see wich maps are available for the USA - I've not visited their site for a while but seem to remember that you can buy (cheaper) part maps of the USA. You might also need to increase the size of your SD card (if your device has one) in order to be able to load the map.

I bought the maps for the whole of the N. American continent last year. (Canada/USA incl. Alaska and Hawaii)

I took my Tom Tom to the US in June and it was a life-saver! Street level coverage and able to get around without any probs whatsoever. Simply brilliant!

i took my tom tom to the US in December and had a nightmare. The US maps SD card evidently had a defect and so it was useless. Tomtom agreed a refund, but I haven't had the money back yet.

Used my Tom Tom in Florida last year. Worked really well.

Great for finding restaurants etc.

I bough the map from the Tom Tom website and downloaded it onto my SD card.

My plan is to buy an empty SD card and download western USA from Tom Tom's website.
