Any recommendations for this price bracket?

Would be good if it had camera alert and maybe traffic alerts too, but the main thing is ease of use and accuracy!

Thanks in advance.

At the moment e-buyer have the "Navigo SY885" (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131342) for £59.98 inclusive of VAT and with free delivery. Brilliant little GPS, Peru fast root re-calculation,the included application is OK and has 7-digit GB postcode search. But the great thing is that with minimal effort you can install TomTom or any other street-mapping software you want on it. Thoroughly recommended.

IF you already have a PDA with Bluetooth i highly recommend TomTom Navigator 6 software and a Holox 32 channel or iBlue 51 channel Bluetooth GPS receiver, all for under £150.

Look on Ebay and you'll find people selling decent used PDA's in good condition if you haven't got one.

TomTom One Europe is very good (I have one, around £150), XL might be better because the bigger screen would help sometimes.

Garmin 250 (but definitely stick with either Garmin or Tomtom)

It's actually for my sister to buy her fiance. After reading up on here I suggested she looks at the Garmin 250 and Tom Tom One and she which she thinks he'll like!

Thanks for your replies.

Yep, Garmin or TomTom.

I had a Garmin for years, it always did a good job. If your sister and fiancee might go to Europe, the TomTom One Europe is worth a few quid extra, adding the maps afterwards is expensive and a pain (=don't buy TT One UK).

I wish I'd bought the XL Europe, though, because when you use the onscreen keyboard the standard One is a bit too small.

T.T one is £99 in Halfords at the mo, however I went up there at the weekend and bought there display unit Garmin C510T which has both traffic updates and a speed camera(static and mobile) database for £110. Ive found it brilliant so far.

Another vote for Tom Tom One. I have the Tom Tom One XL and found it very good.

Just out of interest, sorry to hijack, would anyone recommend the Michelin Sat Navs?? I know TomTom and Garmin are seen as the de facto standards, but does Michelin come close?

Ive been doing a bit of research into this (farting about on the net ) and although the garmin 250w is a fair price, the navman s70 or s90i has the same spec but also has bluetooth, s90i has built in camera. As for the tom tom, it seems good but then you get ripped off when you up date. For me I think the navman s70 is the best.
Good luck making a decision hehe
