As above, recent job change forces the purchase of a sat nav, from speaking to various people it seems some Sat Navs struggle picking up signals on particular roads between tall buildings..Nav man has been mentioned as a good buy..I can pick up an Navman F20 for not much over £100 so thats good news...

Has anyone got one of those or can make any other recommendations, please?

Cheers

It's not the software or the device that will be an issue in built up areas, it's the GPS receiver.

I can highly recommend the iBlue 737 51 Channel Bluetooth GPS receiver. Works in built-up areas and in underground cellars and through tunnels. It's very sensitive, has very quick warm up time from coldstart and works every time on the ball with auto startup when left in standby mode.

It will work for 25hrs solid non-stop or remain on standby for 360hrs or so (couple of weeks). I've had one now for a few months and i am regularly impressed by how it's always picking up between 8 - 12 satellites on the move and 10 Sats most of the time. Even my old Holox 32 channel receiver can't match that by a long chalk although it's still pretty good too and worked very well in Fiji last year.

Hope this helps thumbup
