Anyone had experience of both?

The Pogo Drive does look good BUT the Snooper has bluetooth + lifetime updates for £99

Not both, but recently got the Snooper Syrius as an upgrade from TT One - smart looking little unit, but I didn't like the navigation side at all, from the jerky position cursor to the small roads, illegible place names, and poor spoken instructions.

I mainly bought it for better and easier speed cam database and updating, but was amazed on my first journey that it didn't have a few cameras on my route.

Have returned it and got a Tom Tom 720T, much happier. Will try the TT speed cam database for a while, if it proves to be poor will go back to using Pocket GPS database, even though it is a bit of a fag to update.

Having also tried a Garmin before, I find TT navigation much more intuitive and helpful.

Ok, thanks for that - it does seem that you either have to get a 'camera detector biased' unit like the Pogo/Snooper, OR a Navigation biased unit like the Tom Tom/Garmin.

Re Pocket world GPS is it really that bad to update? - I heard you had to manually copy some files across from the PC after d/l them.

From what I've since read on here & in the Pocket world GPS forum it seems like the best option would be to get a Garmin/Tom Tom with euro maps & then get the PWG maps for £19 per year.

The £50 per year updates to Pogo drive are a bit steep imo considering the upfront cost of the unit.

Struggling at the moment, as what I want is:

-A reliable unit (Garmin seems better from the user reviews)
-Euro mapping
-Wide screen
-Would prefer text to speech (but don't want bluetooth & MP3 etc. as I won't use them, & you only seem to get text to speach with the expensive units that come with everything else!)

I may have to compromise on the text to speech & get something like a Garmin Nuvi 250W Europe... they seem cheap for what you get.
