I've been looking online at satnavs but find it difficult to tell what units have the features I want, in Comet's listings the descriptions don't match the feature lists and on Dabs they don't seem to list every feature.

So can anyone recommend me one that:

has dynamic routing;
has live traffic updates;
has speed camera locations;
has postcode search but also streetname search for when I don't have the postcode;
is portable so I can take it from one vehicle to another easily.

The bigger the screen the better. I only need UK maps not Europe, and I don't mind having to pay to update maps and camera locations as long as the unit has them.

Can anything suitable be got for £150 - £200 and where is the best place to buy?

Hi

I dont know where you would get one for that price that has TMC (traffic alerts) on it. I paid £250 i think. I called a company off the internet and screwed them down on their price. Let me know if you want the details and ill dig em out.

Having got up off my arse and looked around, it seems the TomTom Go 520 Traffic would be a fair bet, and can be had from Ebuyer for £180. Can anyone better that? I have read about some people having issues with the downloading of updates, anyone have any experience of that?

That seems a bargain.... I have heard some good things about the TomTom 520, that being the only good unit....I myself will stick with my snooper as the speed camera detection and mapping beats everything else i have had a play with. Although AA'S Navcam was not bad tbh.

I'd go with the Nuvi 710 at £183.79 from handtec having used both Tom Toms and now the 760.

Having changed in the other direction from Garmin 660 to Tomtom 920 I find the Tomtom is significantly better at route choice and clear directions - although its screens are a little less pretty. I strongly recommend Tomtom.
