Just bought a One XL second hand (legit, with box, and all the other contents smile-not off flebay ). It's missing it's sd card for GB, but I bought it to use when I go to Florida. I was given an SD card for the USA that was originally for a Tom Tom Go.

I've got two problems : When I switch it on I can't get anything other than a picture of a Tom Tom. My PC doesn't recognise the sat nav when I'm using Tom Tom Home.

It doesn't seem to like the SD card for the USA either. All the websites I looked at suggested that GO cards should be compatible with a One XL.

So...is it goosed, or am I dong something wrong??

I probably cannot help, but ...

When you have connected TT to the computer and turn it on, it should ask 'Do you want to connect to the computer'. If you say yes, it should become accessible as a drive on your computer, so that you can copy files backwards and forwards using Windows Explorer. You do not go through TT Home to copy files. Presumably this does not happen?

I found TT online help staff very helpful - not sure whether the way you purchased gives you access to this, but it is worth a try.

This is the problem...it doesn't say anything!!

The Tom Tom site says that by downloading the programme to the 'root files' will solve the problem. I just don't know how to do it.

Is it recognised through TomTom Home?

Have you been resetting it by dabbing the reset or holding it in?

Holding it in for 20/30 seconds makes it do a hard reset. This could enable something?
