Tom Tom - Europe and Australia query

Hi,

I'm looking to buy my first Sat Nav which will help me when my wife and I head out to the Italian Lakes and Milan next month - I've identified a few that have Western Europe maps which is just the ticket.

However, we do have a driving trip planned around Australia and New Zealand and I would like to be able to use a system which I can download the maps for these countries on.

The last thing I want to do is buy a system which I cannot download the maps onto.

Preferably, I would like a Tom Tom.

We are off to Lake Como on Saturday via Switzerland, and we just bought a Tom Tom XL Europe IQ, so far so good - and it makes my built in Sat Nav look very very very poor! I looked at the 730 but dont need and the tech that comes with it, Bluetooth, FM transmitter, Live traffic etc

The thing you need to check is the amount of space on them, after updating the maps on mine with the latest Europe map its pretty much out of space - so although you can get the maps from Tom Tom you probably wont be able to have them both on there at the same time - you can of course swap between the two.

I will be able to tell you better a week Saturday!
