Years ago I saw a piece on TV with Jonathan Palmer. I presume from when he was Mclaren test driver. I was only a kid at the time so can't remember the exact details.

Anyway it showed you some telemetry showing both Palmer and Senna's throttle position through the same corner.

Palmer was off then gradually on the throttle
Senna was off then very quickly on and off kinda blipping it gradually upto fully open. On the graph it looked a lot like a ABS signal but with increasing peaks and troffs

Senna was on the throttle earlier and ended up being at fully open sooner and a faster time around that corner.

Possibly as a traction control method ( he was the rain king ) maybe to turn or balance the car through the corner ?
