I assume you are referring to your local IAM group's regular meetings where they will often have a guest speaker. These can be a bit hit-and-miss depending on the topic and your interest in the topic. They're not always focused on driving. But the ones to look out for, and not to be missed if they're offered, are the "associates' meetings" and/or "meet the local examiners".
