The High Performance Course will be running another Young Drivers' Day on the Saturday 28 July 2018. The event is open to full licence holders who are aged 26 years or less, and who are not already graduates of the High Performance Course.

Young Drivers Day said:
The aim of day is to give you an exciting and educational experience which will give you, hopefully, a ‘taster’ of what driving at a very high level is all about, so that you are encouraged to develop further your own driving skills. The day will involve a mixture of driving on public roads and discussing driving techniques in a classroom setting. The event is run by the High Performance Course Managers, both of whom have enormous experience of coaching drivers to the very highest standards.
More details are available on the High Performance Course website - here: http://www.high-performance-course.com/index.php?o...

It's been running for many years so you can also find information in previous threads, or ask a question here and someone will be able to help. 2 common question / answers:
- if you've just outside the age criteria (i.e. late twenties) it may still be worth applying.
- if you read the website the full course (2.5 days etc.) is a different course - this is a more informal day which gives younger drivers an introduction to advanced driving with a focus on cornering and overtaking...

I intend to be there as a previous (full) course graduate - and hope to take the e39 M5 - it is a great day and those who attend go away with lots to think about and inspired by what they have done during the day...

A highly recommended day. I can scarcely believe it'll be 11 years since I attended the 2007 day...

You'll get a lot out of it, on some great roads and go away with plenty to think about.

Get signed up!

Thought it was time to bump this event thread.

If you're interested in driving well and are an eligible age, it's really worth making the effort to attend.

There is still space if any one wishes to book:

The High Performance Course is running a Young Drivers’ Day on 28th July 2018.
This is open to those aged 26 years or less and hold a full driver’s license.
Info on their website: http://www.high-performance-course.com/index.php?o...

There may be some flexibility if just over 26 etc. - always worth asking - but aiming the event at younger drivers...

I will be there - in the e39 M5 (assuming the wheels are redone - having just dropped them off today...) - look forward to seeing others there - come and say hello...

I've sent the link to my brother, I think he'd benefit.

Shame I'm about 6 years too old!

Yes, I suspect that over 30s might be out of the zone - I know that a few folks have done it between 26 & 30 years old - so you could always ask... but if not - look at doing the High Performance Course anyway - the Young Drivers' Day is great fun and very 'eye-opening' in what it shows you, along with food, nice cars and a lot of humour! - but the actual main course, while not cheap is very good value for 2.5 days of instruction and if you have any interest in driving better, it blows your mind in showing you what you are capable of doing...

Thanks to all involved for the excellent day!

The driving demonstrated driving sessions offer a perfect chance to feel a "proper drive" whilst discussing elements of the driving taking place and areas of your own driving that you would like to focus on.
The observers are capable, friendly and encouraging - As a result of the day, I've had several key takeaways to go and work on improving my cornering & handling techniques in time for next year! - As above; Working with the observers gives you a chance to feel how it should be done under your own hand, giving you the chance to work on polish and consistency.

I look forward to attending next year, and in the mean time, will continue looking for self improvement and advnaced training opportunities!
