Has anyone had any recent experience with IAM or RoSPA advanced tests for trucks?

And, what is required to become an ADI for trucks?

Most of the trucks used here in Oz are now automatic. Is that happening in the UK/Europe?

You don't have to be an ADI for trucks in the UK, it's a voluntary register unlike for cars.
Most new UK trucks are following the PCV trend of becoming Autos.
The licence regs have also changed because of this. Now if you have a manual car licence & take/pass your LGV test in an auto you get a manual LGV licence (without ever having seen/experienced a range change or splitter).

To do an advanced for LGVs you need

A LGV fully insured etc which usually means borrowing one from the boss to use for training and test

You need a LGV observer from the local group = very rare

You need an advanced examiner who is authorised to test LGVs for advanced


To teach LGV you need a local LGV training school to give you a chance to do so
