Do I need to do the test again? Ultimately, it's a phone call to them to ask. That wouldn't be a problem - I'm a member of another driving organisation that isn't a charity and have at least one day a year with an instructor. I'm moving to N Yorks next month so if nothing else it would be a good way of discovering decent roads in the area.

No, I renewed my membership after 30 years, they did want my old membership number but other than that it was very easy

That's one of the issues with the IAM (I'm a lapsed member) - if you can pass the test once, you can stay a member for life.

I was getting zero value for my membership fee, so gave it up a few years ago.
