This is one of my favourites: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QtMEeyeeVLZXyKpC6 Note the position of the Golf.

Same junction taken from the right hand entrance, notice how close you are and how little you can see of the entrance on the left: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fRQVgc9uALbPuCpYA

One of the better mini-roundabouts, I would say; the centre is offset, so it’s not just a bodged up T-junction. The limited view SHOULD make you slow down to enter. As always, signalling is key here, and a willingness to give way and to share the road space in your turn, that aspect is sadly lacking by many road-users.

I'd agree, it's not that bad. I think that it illustrates the point that if someone is approaching from NW at or even above the speed limit along Well Grn, intending to go straight on, no intention of stopping, maybe even going to straight line it and pass to the right of the marked centre, then it's quite difficult for traffic from their left.

As one should say, "prepared to stop, looking to go. LoL.

The confusion arises from the difference between the highway code (give way to right) and the regulations themselves which say (give way to vehicular traffic circulating on the carriageway). Subject to safety, I apply the second rule, but any concept of priority at a roundabout encourages drivers to approach it too fast, I think.

I don't see the confusion, you simply give way to traffic that you'll come into conflict with if you don't, it's pretty simple, that's why it's an overarching rule for driving on the road not just roundabouts.

Yep, the problem is the combination of building, parked cars, the tree and the bend in the road, vehicles coming from Ashtree Rd can't see traffic from the right until it's within two car lengths of the give way. Traffic coming from NE straight line over the roundabout rather than going around it, kicking off at other road users who are already on the roundabout before they enter.

Firstly I got my approaching from NE and heading SW completely befuddled, and xame out with NW, doh!

It's exactly the same issue with the two locations I linked on the previous page. The main issue including those kicking off at people making their go decision when vehicle from rightbis not in sight and are already on the roundabout before the other has even reached the lines.

Maybe it's even worse on the ones I linked as unlike the above the island isn't offset, and there is a subset of drivers who just blast through oblivious to the signs, road markings etc thinking they are on the main route and not even recognising there is a mini roundabout.
