Why are vehicles squeezing past me as I wait to turn right?

Maybe try giving an arm signal as well as the indicator. I've used it in a few situations which have helped make my intentions clear.
If nothing else you could grab yourself a nearside mirror from a mini
This is a genuinely useful idea - there's somewhere very similar where I do that.If nothing else you could grab yourself a nearside mirror from a mini
I'm having a vaguely similar issue now that neighbours opposite are parking their daughter's recently purchased learner-mobile on the road.
It's directly opposite our entry and when I indicate right to turn in, following vehicles think I'm doing so to pass it and are surprised when I don't simply drive on by.
Worse when having to stop for vehicles from the opposite direction. The car behind then usually expects me to accelerate past, getting close to contact when I turn in. A blast of the horn sometimes follows.
It's a relatively quiet road so if there's a car behind I now pull in to the left and stop, and then turn right when the road is clear.
Doesn't help the OP but there's only so much you can do when sharing the road with so many unobservant and impatient drivers.

I can see the issue(s). Probably also when you wait for oncoming cars and they helpfully stop and flash you through!M4cruiser said:

Can't win sometimes but at least I'm not going to get bumped from behind. Thankfully it doesn't happen regularly.

As said, that is where a hand signal will help. Almost pointing to the turn in. Also positioning your car so that it does not look like a simple overtake, which may mean stopping further back. It's directly opposite our entry and when I indicate right to turn in, following vehicles think I'm doing so to pass it and are surprised when I don't simply drive on by.

Another idea, someone above may have already suggested...
Why don't you start with hazards so the car behind knows you're doing something unusual and is hopefully cautious, then once you've pulled left and the person behind has clock the hazards, switch to indicating right?
Failing that is it a mad idea to get a digital display for your rear window to display a suitable message?

I like the idea of a display connected to indicators. 'GET THE fk AWAY FROM ME!'
Apologies to 21st Century Man for the thread hijack.
