safety chain....or .. dog chain.
It`s secures the the kingpin and prevents it coming out!

Yes, it secures the 5th wheel handle!
Some automatically lock, some need attached.

Excellent - you can start driving it like a car now. I have a class 2 by the way and often find it amazing how a lot of truck drivers these days have such poor road placement, such as on the approach to round-a-bouts.
