Spot on.
A decent driver will be able to beat ABS in the wet in a straight line, iirc Jason Plato demonstrated he could beat it by a large margin on 5th Gear some years back.
The advantage was lost when he had to steer around some cones and try as he might, he could not match the performance of ABS in those circumstances.
