RE: Want to improve your driving?
Discussion
Been on a few courses with Mark - His driving technique is very smooth and professional - he knows and has in-depth experience of track racing all the way through to teaching the BiB advanced standard - so a great knowledge base in a variety of specialities. On the teaching front he is calm and patient and explains things well - he has to with people like me turning up...
I would thoroughly rec'd him, driver training is THE most important thing if you want to extract the best from your car and be able to enjoy yourself while being probably safer than 80% of others on the road - and Mark will show you how whether a beginner or someone just brushing up.
(he's a bit tight getting the teas in though.....only kidding!)

How do you know that? Have you watched the DVD
No, but I have a couple of books about that topic. It´s just what I´ve observed, most people drive like morons because they are morons and they are thinking that they are good drivers and don´t need to learn. But you can always improve yourself.

You missed the section on Cadence Clutching.
I am always very put off by those sacred words, "Ex Police Instructor"
From 99% of the Police (inc traffic) I see being an Instructor for them is something I would want to keep quiet about.
Seems plain to me that on the driving course they tell you that now you are an advanced driver signals are no longer needed. You can also drive how the hell you like because you are The Police.
Maybe thats why he is an "ex".

I don't think that it is something to be quiet about, it's an indication that he trained people to a higher standard than a regular BSM Instructor - what they do afterwards (BiB) is much tha same as what everyone does after their test - up to them and in the police case, their professionalism. If you take the quote before - 'most peope drive like morons' - then is that the regular driving instructors fault? No.
Instructors instruct in their subject so that the pupil aquires a standard that enables them to pass a test. What they do after is their own decision - which is why instructors aren't prosecuted after an offence but the driver is.
It's perhaps plain to you that signals aren't being used, but that is not what is taught, and far from 'drive how you like' you are taught a systematic approach to car control and methodical hazard negociation - but what the individual does with that afterwards is a question for them.
I wouldn't let it put you off - keep an open mind and learn what's taught from someone who is properly qualified and experienced to teach - Mark or others - and then decide yourself whether you want to be an '80% moron' or a good driver....
