Hiya!

I think this is the right forum to post this on but not sure!!

I was driving home on the M602/M62 earlier today and there was, what i assumed, were two speed cameras along the top of the Motorway...at the time, i was trying to get past someone hogging the middle lane who was causing some kind of congestion...i was going about 75mph but was slowing down and i dont know whether it got me above 70mph or at about 71/72mph ish? I'm just wondering whether this will catch me out and fine me and put points on my license?

I'm really papping one cause, well for one, i've only been driving for a year in december, and two, i promised my mum i wasnt taking the car into manchester to university...so if it comes up that i was speeding on a motorway in manchester... im in sh*t street both ways.

I'm not sure whether it got me cause there was some police cars waiting later on who i'm assuming would follow the speeder and catch them, as there was two people stopped with police cars later on on the motorway...but no-one followed me!

HELP!!! Do you think ill get caught and how long would it take before a notice would come through? And if possible...how long until i get away with it if i dont get a notice?

Thanks for any help!!

A very stressed out student! x

Looks like you'll be ok then, suspect it was just a plod with laser, radioing to his mates down the road ...

At 75 they won't be interested I wouldn't think ...

However, a warning ... don't be a naughty kitty and tell your mum you're not taking the car to Uni ... tut tut ... biglaugh

NIPs need to arrive with you within 14 days ... - oh, at 75 your true speed is more likely to be 72-73ish ...

Automatic Number Plate Recognition.

Basically camera reads every number plate, checks the Police National Computer, sounds an alert for any car that is flagged of interest to Police (No insurance, used in Theft etc)& the operator then lets the car you saw ahead know who stops it.

It's not for speed measurement (if it was ANPR) & at the speed you think you were doing Camera partnerships wouldn't normally prosecute.
