Improve your car control with PH

Special rates for Ultimate Car Control courses

PistonHeads has once again teamed up with Ultimate car control and ex-British Touring car champion Robb Gravett to bring you a special deal on their Dynamic Driver Training Days.

UCC offers two distinct courses - the Day One and Day Two course - depending on driver experience and skill level, which will be held at the Transport Research Laboratory in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

The dates available are a Day One course on Saturday 21 April and a Day Two event on Friday 27 April.

The Day One course features a classroom introduction delivered by Robb to include weight transfer, braking, steering, roll oversteer, power oversteer and understeer. Each student will be taught car handling through dynamic understanding, achieved through a mixture of classroom instruction and then practical experience in the car. Robb provides personal training throughout the day.

The Day Two course also starts with a classroom introduction delivered by Robb, and includes a review of Day (1) skills and the introduction of heel and toe.

The course goes on to cover:

* Reinforcement of Day (1) skills

* Heel and toe practice

* Heel and toe at speed

* Driving at speed and under pressure

* Racecraft

* Circuitcraft

The Day One PH price is £360 (£625 if you use one of the company's Mercedes) - a considerable saving over the usual charge of £1,250.

Day Two courses cost a little more at £399 (£699) although student numbers are restricted, improving the teacher/pupil ratio.

If you want to take advantage of this offer, contact Cate Walton on 07795 494646 / 01344 751669 or email cate@ultimatecarcontrol.com

Hmm, sounds good for the driver thats new to proper cars and proper driving, but I suspect a lot of this would be teaching PHers to suck eggs.

No way, no matter how good you are, any amount of tuition WILL make you a better driver.

If Kimi Raikkonen needs (well, wants) a driving instructor, so do I.

Yes, it is short notice. Sounds like fun though - I always felt that the original "Car Control Course" was merely scratching the surface and dwelt on the "Robb Gravett Flick" to the exclusion of almost everything else.

A day that takes that and builds on it sounds like something I'd like to do, and since I'm entirely self-taught on heel & toe I'd quite like the opportunity for someone to teach me to do it properly. driving
