I'm hoping someone can answer my question regarding the above road in the link.

If you were heading down Grace Road in the direction of Aylestone Road and wanted to take the immediate left - that being Park Hill Drive, how would you do it in a test situation. The two roads meet at a 45 degree angle and bearing in mind that the two road seperation is marked with diagonal white stripes with a solid outer line. It is impossible to get into Park Hill Drive from Grace Road without going over these lines. I'm aware you could take Grace Road wide to perhaps gain entry to Park Hill Drive, but it could be dangerous and certainly would be seen as inconvenient to following motorists.

What is the appropriate cause of action in this case, anyone know?

Many thanks for listening,

Jo (PDI).

I'll refer you to the answer i gave earlier...

I'd be tempted to explain to the examiner that it is impossible to make that turn without crossing the solid white lines, which is an offence, and with local knowledge, you know that turning left onto Aylestone Road, and then next left again, is a much safer option and will take you onto the same road.

HC 109? It's a should not, not a MUST NOT, so why's it an offence?

Actually it depends on whether the area is marked with Diagonal lines or Chevrons (like on motorway slip roads). These are the must not enter areas.

Thanks I read that. The OP stated diagonal lines.
