Turning right into a minor road

Just an observation - why do so many drivers when turning right into a side road, cut across the white T (as they believe they are turning across an empty junction) - only to realise too late, that a car is approaching from the side road ?
Having then dialled in too much right lock, they then have to wind it off rapidly in order to avoid the other vehicle (now waiting) and then wind it back on, ie swerve around their front and risk a crashing of offside wings.
I guess none of us were taught to drive like this, but there are a few local roads where I see it every day. Is there anything in the HC about this ?

Sums it up quite nicely.We are alongside each other at the entrance to the roundabut, I in the inside lane, we both drive past the first exit, and then I indicate to turn left into the next left exit, numpty alongside me also going to turn off the same exit (still 2 lanes), decides to cut across into my lane, either causing me to brake sharply, and have a minor heart attack, or if I am lucky, swipe me as he/she goes by????

I too observe this.
Reasons?
Lazy steering wheel technique is the major one I think.
Stand at a busy junction and look at the way most "steer".
I did that a few days ago and not once did I see anything resembling any taught method.
Then there is adjusting speed for the hazard, many just do not want to slow enough.
Same old same old, no plan.

I expect it's just another example of thoughtlessness and laziness etc. It's easier to make the radius of the turn a bit larger, and then you avoid some of the hard work with the steering wheel! Maybe impatience plays a part also; it feels quicker to make the turn if it's less sharp, less need to slow down etc.Best wishes all,

I always make sure that if I am turning right out of a side street that I position myself right upto the T line. Not only does this force said numpties to drive properly but it also allows me better vision and more space on my left rear quarter for cars that might want to turn left to get through.
Another annoyance with people turning into side streets is them not moving upto the centre line enough, thus blocking off all traffic behind them. Also people that dont know the width of their cars, in relation to small gaps!

Numpty B, TR from major to minor road, lost, not looking, reading directions held in right hand which was also holding lit cigarette, hand held phone in left hand. WTF was he steering indicating and changing gear with?

Don't get me started on this.Before hand-held mobile phones while driving were explicitly banned, and talk of banning smoking the same way garnering column inches, you might occasionally catch someone making a sneaky phonecall or taking advantage of a traffic jam to have a crafty smoke.
Now it seems there's this small (but noticeable) group who feel the need to wave phone and cigarette around, holding them out the window, as if to shout, "Look at me! I'm on the phone! I'm smoking a cigarette! I'm dangerous and illegal! Approve of me! Please!"

I ride a small scooter to work and often find my route blocked by someone turning right but sitting over to the left waiting for a gap. I'm afraid to say often female! They are also the ones who swing to the left as part of a right turn. Maybe they are used to towing...
Supplementary question:-
Given that there are so many numpties out there, and I have a nice blind side-road junction that I approach on the minor each day. Most oncoming drivers clip the *back* of the junction line (ie are still offside 15ft after the junction).

It's what causes the majority of accidents: complacency as something hasn't happened for a while so they think it won't happen in the future. My Dad does this every time he turns right in fact he's totally on the wrong side of the road for a good 10-20 yards!
