You told my Mum off because I only had one hand on the steering wheel once. Rest assured that hearty lols occurred as a result of this.Bert

Who is chief instructor these days? Is it still Dave something or other? The policeman.
Bert
There is a new CI this year and as you are clearly missing the club they would be delighted to have you back instructing.Bert
Who's man-on now?

Wasn't Andy CI a few years ago? Are they running out of people or something?
good memories all! The Z3 has gone. It was for my wife really and she didn't enjoy it and I thought it was a horrid blancmange (she is now a mini-one driver). TVR went when it had accumulated enough TVR diseases to get wallet-scary. The Rover is a great car. It has been used a huge amount. HG went early doors, but has been great since I sorted it. It has been dented in most places, but still carries on. Did a trip to the alps a winter ago. Great car. k-series revs wonderfully.
The pug was brilliant to drive, but just too unreliable. I got fed up changing components to try to get it to tick-over and not stall.
P1 was a great car too.
ADC is a good guy, hope the club does well with him looking after the the instruction.

I'm not sure what the position is right now, but I understand the numbers are limitied: I'd click on the link on the website asap, tbh! http://www.under17-carclub.co.uk/index.shtml

Anyone know if there is a waiting list to join the club, or can everyone who applies be accommodated? Just wondered as my little girl is a few years off being the right age, but I don't want to miss the boat if I need to get her name down early
Chris
Yes there is a waiting list and likely to get longer, get her name down ASAP, then come to an open day.Chris
Thanks, it was actually being invited to one of the days at Castle Combe (as part of North Wilts RoSPA) that made me aware of the club, the enthusaism and the standard of driving.
Jennifer's got back to me with an application form so I've sent that off and Jess will now be joining the waiting list

Hi Folks, time for another update: year 3 for us, the car's holding up well, & my nerves are pretty much settled! I understand there are some spaces left for 2011, so http://www.under17-carclub.co.uk/ here if you're interested, we highly recommend it!

I have to say, I'd have found learning to drive in an M3 as a young teenager absolutely brilliant!I hope you and your son are still enjoying yourselves.
Thanks, yep, he's getting the hang of it, it's more forgiving than I thought it would be: I figured he'd want to learn about rwd at some stage, so why not now, & strangely, he's not a fan of his mums 156; can't get comfy apparently! There was briefly a second at Combe on Sunday, a purple coupe, although it disappeared after lunch though.

There was a very nice 147 in a burgundy colour doing the rounds last Sunday: I have to confess, the only battle damage I've picked up was my own fault, not Andrews: the fuse for the rear sensors blew & I tagged the rear bumper on an oil drum litter bin - four weeks into a new paint job... serves me right for not checking properly.
