I guess any car like a Cerbera with high milage will be difficult to sell - but I'm not really worried about that

Has the 100K AJP V8 needed a timing chain? and the replacement of the auxilary ( Oil, water, power steering pumps) driveshaft?

Matt

Not so far, we're into uncharted territory here, I don't think even the factory has experience of AJP engines at this milage. I spoke to TVR power, and if you have aircon its an engine out job to replace.

Its now a question of whether my nerve or the chain fails first

Any idea how long that chain is meant to last?

No one knows. I spoke to TVR Power, and they said they replace them as a matter of course on any engines they work on with more that 40k on the clock. However, to replace the chain is an engine out job (if the car has air-con).

My car will get its vavles adjusted again at 106k miles, so we'll check the chain then.
