My 2002 2.4 SE auto, should drop over 160k next month
Bought in Jan after an “oh st I need a car now Facebook market “ moment.
I really need to dress all the plastics as it lets car down in my eyes, after maybe 13/14 years away from Volvo I love this car and when things are straight again the only thing it will be swapped for is another P2, again with a petrol lump and auto box

My D4 manual. I have always been a VW guy but wanted something different. This was the alternative to a GTD. My only complaint is a slightly high seating position.
1st is pretty short but once going torque in 2nd to 3rd is impressive. I’m currently looking for the Polestar map but I’m not willing to pay £700!
Unknown to me at time of purchase from a Volvo Selekt dealer. It’s had a new engine 10k before I bought it. It had suffered the EGR issues. Had 4. On the last attempt there was another issue and the dealer removed the head. They threaded a head bolt putting it back together. Result. £6k’s worth of new long engine. As do EGR and cooler!
At first I was pretty annoyed about the whole thing. I only knew about it as it went to the local dealer for a knock which was a loose subframe........they then told me the history and I now have all the story from Volvo UK. The new block has loosened up nicely and I’m happy with the fact I have a 45k chassis with a 15k engine.
And I love the colour!

This has been with us for about 8 weeks now;
A properly nice place to be, soaks up all the stuff we throw in it of course and even the dog seems happy. It's the 215 model and potters along quite happily. We've learned that it's the most risk averse car we could have bought with all those warning alerts but used to it now.

Here’s mine. Had it 3 months now, got it for the BIK and that it wasn’t a 330e /530e which seem to be the default company car of choice at the moment.
Ticked all the options except paint and HUD. Really pleased with it and the B&W sound system is epic. Shame the system is crap for accessing my music off of the USB.
Also rides really well now I have the dampers set to 20 front and 22 rear.

Did my first proper journey in this yesterday, a 400 mile round trip, mainly motorway and pulling a motorbike trailer. Only way to describe it is effortless. What a comfortable place to be, haven't done a journey that long in a while for obvious reasons, very impressed.A properly nice place to be, soaks up all the stuff we throw in it of course and even the dog seems happy. Snap. Had the exact same thing and had to buy a car pronto, and then bought this D5 SE Manual with 137k and many things wrong with it. Still made the 560 mile journey home though. Bought in Jan after an “oh st I need a car now Facebook market “ moment.

My 2006 V70. Bought her in March this year with 87k on. Plan on keeping the car forever if I can.
Funny things, Volvo's.We could usefully do with a small van....& it would make sense to swap my XC60 (85k miles, owned from new). After all, we invested in a Kona EV & use that far, far more nowadays.
....but every time I wash it:
& the now rare times we drive it, I just feel "ah, it owes me nothing - perhaps I'll just keep it forever".
Very comfortable for longer runs, or when we need more space, or the tip run....reasonable tax & sub-£200 insurance.....might have to sit on the driveway as the spare luxury wagon, looking handsome, for some more years.....

What the issue with the car anyway?

Good choice, that picture could only more Swedish is you took it with your Hasselblad sitting in your Bondholmen chair mainlining Absolut 100 :-)

Well funnily enough, I spend half of my time on Sjælland, Denmark or "West Sweden" as the traditional Jutlanders refer to it. So I'm almost there! What the issue with the car anyway?
Ach it was just the rear brakes were down to the metal back plates as I set off (bought unseen practically). Changed the pads and discs within 8 hours of getting home.
The power steering felt funny which I'm going to carry out a flush on.
A service is needed very soon.
It's no show pony so there are probably only 4 panels that don't have dents or cracks to the bumpers.
The tyres are all mismatched and the wheels are shabby as hell.
The CD changer doesn't work.
The rear wiper is stuck in the 11 o'clock position.
Front fogs aren't working.
Needs a good clean in and out I found food jammed in the steering column while adjusting before setting off.
Headlights are hazed up as well but an easy DIY job.

Power steering feeling funny…. Is it a bit like a pulse through the steering wheel as you go round a constant radius curve?
I’ve had 3 high miler V70s, 1 P1 and 2 P2’s. They’ve all done it, and never got any worse. “They all do that Sir”
Aye exactly like that as well as a dead zone off centre, could also be tie-rod ends or bushes. But I'm offshore on a boat for the next 2 weeks so I'm not going to worry about it. As long as it starts when I get back. I’ve had 3 high miler V70s, 1 P1 and 2 P2’s. They’ve all done it, and never got any worse. “They all do that Sir”
