had mine 2 weeks now ( 3.0 ),, what a machine! not worked out what all the gadgets do and need to subscribe to the Oncall app

Previously owned a mk5 golf GTI and thought that was the best all round family car you could get... not anymore!. Quiet and understated when you want ,,and an absolute stealth missile when you don't.

Mine is black but can't upload a pic as cannot work out how to shrink the photo on my phone to fit!
Have a good play with the Oncall app. You can remote start so it can warm on a winters morning (or vice versa in summer)

Does anyone else have the new VEA 2.0 polestar?

My dad picked his up a few months back, i do not see it often but when i do i definitely think he made the right choice!

I am nervous how long tyres will last on it though with the distances mentioned in this thread!

I've wondered if anyone is going to bother buying these, as without the I6 noise I think a large part of the appeal is surely gone?

I can't help but think how much nicer the S90/V90 would be with the SI6 engine rather than the four pot farters :-(

Well I'm definitely bothering - having tried and posted a review here of the I6 variant back in Nov 2014, I was hugely disappointed with that car. Having just had a VEA car on loan for a week courtesy of Volvo UK and City Motors Bristol, in my opinion, bar the glorious 6-cyl howl, the VEA is a far better all-round out of the box package than the car it replaced, in terms of performance, gearbox response and handling. The only thing which let it down was the horrendous tyre noise, which ironically also afflicts the I6 cars. Thankfully Volvo / Polestar appear to be aware of this issue as they've just today released the specs of the 2018 model, which now includes Michelin Super Sport tyres with "Cavity Damping":

https://www.polestar.com/intl/about/news/

I'm hoping to try one of these new cars, and if the tyre noise is resolved, and the price is right, I'm struggling to find reasons to not have one!

It is decent if you like FI, plenty of supercharger noise. It definitely is more vocal than say a Golf R.

The comment about tyre noise is interesting as I noticed ours was very loud on tyre noise and firm. But, the PDI had clearly missed reducing tyre pressures, instant improvement. Still a bit vocal though, the cavity damping is interesting, I presume that is for the Pilot 4S now the PSS is out of production?

The standard Pilot Super Sport is still available via any Michelin stockist. The Super Sport with Cavity Damping tyre is presently only available via Polestar / Volvo as they hold the entire stock run of tyres.

Just turned over 19,000 miles and still loving this car. Had a little play in the snow in the car park this morning and it does everything it should. The Maxxis tyres seem to be lasting a lot better than the original Michelins (5,000 miles done and no appreciable wear).
It continues to be an excellent 'Q' car . . .

Absolutely superb cars.

I see one with around 3-5k miles can be bought £33-35ish,. where do people think they'll be in a year or two? Obviously they cant keep drooping at this rate!
Want to bet? They'll probably depreciate very fast but bottom out and stay there for a long time, same as the V70R and S60R did and have.
Well nearly 3 years on there is still very little below £25k on the market. I think the car has suprise everyone. Very tempted to jump in, probably a 3.0.

If you can find one - the 3.0 seem to be fairly thin on the ground at the moment . . .

Deal basically done. Mint example, 13k rebel blue. Owned by the pharmacist in my (very small) village coincidentally.

Got it home last night. Superb thing. So much better getting to know it on my own than with the previous owner sitting in the passenger seat.

One question, Volvo warranty expires in June this year, has anyone taken extended warranty and what did it cost?

Interested in the warranty as well. It will be an expensive thing to fix!

Cheers. Coming from an f30 335i I don't need any more power yet. Can the gearbox handle more? I was under the impression the older 6 speed was coming close to its limits.....

Cheers. That looks like decent value as long as there are no silly exclusions.

Having spent a bit of time in the car, which I’ll not go on about as there’s plenty written here, I have to say I’m extremely impressed with the brakes. They are very powerful, loads of feel, no fade and are generally just superb.

According to others they seem to take track work well too, not that I’ll be near one.

Cheeky picture of mine.
