V90 ordered today
Discussion
I appear to have read some duff information a few years ago, sorry.
The new 4 cylinder unit of which you speak was described back then as the 5 cylinder D5 2.4, reduced to 2.0 for tax and emissions reasons. It seems that report was bks.
To heap on more confusion, I read a report the the V90 carried a new 4 cylinder 2 litre unit, not seen before.
Which also seems to be bks.
My apologies.
I've been looking around for a V70, so thanks for putting me straight. I was barking up the wrong tree, big time.

I leased it direct with Volvo.
18 month lease (strange but thats all they were offering when I ordered in April)
15,000 per year.
£2,200 initial payment
£379 a month for 17 months.
The sales chap who did the handover (the guy I ordered the car with isn't there anymore!) did comment something polite about 'that's a hell of a deal'

Ok, interesting - thanks. At the end of the period you hand the car back, nothing further to pay but nothing coming back to you?
i.e. you'd need to assemble a fresh deposit for the next car?
Having a play on the Volvo site today gives me this:
Volvo V90
R-Design
D5 PowerPulse AWD Automatic
Personal lease including servicing and maintenance
Monthly rental:
£654.06
Initial rental:
£3,924.36
Contract length:
24 Months
Miles per annum:
10 000 Miles
I suppose the question I would have is that the final word, or the start of the negotiation?

So mine is the D4 - this is essentially a second car for us, so couldn't justify the jump to D5. I've got the D4 Inscription with Winter Pack (could resist the heated wheel and screen!)
Yes you are right, at the end of 18 months - I hand the keys back and walk away. Having already found what is the best value deal at the time to replace with.
My package doesn't include maintenance and servicing. I know I'm in for one service and maybe one set of front tyres if I'm unlucky.

Thanks for the info. I've started chatting with a Volvo dealer, seems they only offer accompanied test drives - which is a little disappointing.
I'd like to borrow a T8* for the weekend and drive down to see my parents, then back home again - give the battery powered part a chance to run down etc to see what it's like.

- Which would be in an XC90 for now, I am aware
