I have just brought the said volvo, i will say it pulled our caravan very well, but i have a problem with it that i just can not work out.
can anyone please help......
it appears when you drive along the motorway all is fine. its when you leave the motorway and drive on A class roads is where i seem to be having this problem.

The engine will still run most of the electronics still work. The elect windows do not work also the indicators dont work and all the dash lights including the speedo and rev counter fail to work. I then have to stop turn off the car from the key and then start the car again drive from appox 10 miles and the same thing happens again,,,,,,

does anyone know what the problem is please

many thanks
steve......

Get an auto electrician out.

What sort of nick is the battery in? Maybe put it on charge. But it sounds to me like you have one of those issues that will take ages or experience to resolve.

If everything is failing at once then I'd guess at an earthing problem - probably a loose connection on a car of that age

Search Volvo CEM faults - the repair can be quite cheap.

Might be worth having a word with Tony MacMillan at Kings Motors in Westbury - he's an ex-Volvo aftersales manager with over 25yrs experience, and has ex-Volvo techs working with him; I'm sure they will collectively be able to offer some advice.
