I think my V90 has developed its first fault. When turning left there is a knock which appears to be coming from the steering column, anyone else have this?

Not seen this before - even on previous low fuel warnings in this car. Clever, but I have 1/4 of a tank left!

Just C&P'ing my own post from the lease thread which might be helpful for anyone after a S90

Further to my recent post on the Volvo S90 deals at Jet Leasing I've got myself what I think to be a very decent deal:

Volvo S90 D5 PowerPulse AWD R-Design Automatic

Plus options:
Metallic Paint
4-Zone Electronic Climate Control and Cooled Glovebox
Headlight Cleaning System
Autodimming Exterior Mirrors
Active Bending LED Headlights
Rear Park Assist Camera
Keyless Drive (includes Keyless Entry and Keyless Start) with Remote Tag plus Handsfree Tailgate Opening /Closing

List price apparently is £42400 for that model and the options are an extra £2954.99 = £45,354.99 Total List Price

This is costing me 3+23 £324.08 per month with a £145 admin fee. My man maths tells me that is 18.89% of list over the two years. Even if you could buy that car with an £11,000 discount (or 24.4% discount on list) it would still slot under the 25% threshold. Still feels a great deal for me on a car that I wanted, in the right spec, model and colour combo (black and black!).

Apparently Jet Leasing have about 20 of these (well, 19 now!) of different hues that were ROI spec that are now being registered in the UK instead. Therefore the only thing mine doesn't have is the flappy paddles and having had three cars with that and used it once on one of them I am sure I can live without it. Interestingly they had an onyx black with an amber interior available, don;t think that's available in the UK so maybe a chance to have the only UK amber interior S90 for someone!

They had Momentum Pro D4's, excellent spec but without some things you wouldn't miss but with some great extras like the LED foglights, rear and front camera (from memory) for about £280 odd quid a month on a 3+23 so if you fancy one of these I'd steam in quickly

You can call them on 01527 868749, option 1 for sales. Casey sorted me out, very helpful. Delivery is 3-4 weeks

Sounds good. My d5 v90 r design is a 2018 model so extras were front sensors and metallic paint.
List was 45900 according to the paperwork and I paid about 17% of list on a 6x23
I would have thought the list on yours would have been higher? Anyway they are great cars and having the camera will help as the parking sensors were clearly made by the gear box bloke and are very slow to respond!

Finally getting round to posting after delivery of both car and baby in same week. Both 4 weeks old now so had a bit of time to settle in.

Delivery was good but have some dealer fitted swirlies and the blonde interior had been fiddled with by someone with very 'car dirty' hands - not great with a light / dark split steering wheel but so far my detailer has been able to get any marks found off reasonably easily. Swirlies still to be addressed and dealer considering contributing. Real shame as they are quite noticeable on magic blue.

The color i like, i wouldn't say i love - but certainly gets comments. In the shade it looks like a very basic non metallic dark blue but in the sun its all kinds of heavily metallic shades. See pics below. Magic Blue does however suit the blonde interior in my option.

Car itself i love, really glad i went for the pro variant. Heads up display is really nice as are the other pro goodies. Its an expensive trim option but i feel we will get good use out of the extras it added. Pic of the hud below if interested

Seats are, as expected from Volvo, great, as is the standard audio. The standard audio set up is far better than the upgraded BMW advanced system in my previous 4 series (Only use 320kps files or Spotify on extreme which helps bring the best of it out). The gear box has been spot on from day 1 for me too - no hesitation or laggy moments. I was slightly worried about the previous gearbox comments especially as the box in the bmw was great. My V90 has so far given me no issues for concern or complaint.

Need to see if i can get pilot assist calibrated to be more central as holds the lane to the left far too much but adaptive cruise is great. The system in my wife's VW Golf makes me clench an awful lot as it late breaks regardless of how set up - the Volvo i find myself barely touching the pedals anymore.

The overall tech is great - and the oddest compliment i can give it is that its overwhelmingly underwhelming. eg everything just seems to make sense and work. I dont have to work too hard to do anything or change settings. Again comparing it to the wife's Golf with virtual cockpit - that thing has menus for days and is very distracting!

Finally, and the point that i came to make - we live in the north west and due to an accident on the M6 today, everywhere around me has been gridlocked... the sat nav in the Volvo has been top notch. It has routed and re routed like a local cabby. I have been down more back roads and residential shortcuts today and made all my appointments and trips on time. I did an update on the maps earlier in the week which may have helped - but credit where credit is due.

Now for the only bit anyone cares about - some pics! Any questions on any of the 'pro' toys let me know as it seems not many people have gone down that route.

Heads up display

And now for the bits noticed on delivery frown

Considering the S90 but little worried on the width of the car and my gates. The parkers guide has the car at 2019mm

https://www.parkers.co.uk/volvo/s90/saloon-2016/in...

Is this just as the wing mirrors stick out? Looking at my previous cars they've all been around 1.7m wide.

Anyone lost a phone in their car yet? And where did you find it?!? confused

I bought a crappy old £20 iphone off ebay and collected it from a PO in my car. Opened the box to have a check over it and all was fine, so gathered up the box and packaging etc and bundled everything into the glove box - or so I thought...

Was away over the weekend so just opened the glove box today to get all the stuff out and the phone is nowhere to be found! It's not in the glove box, it's not in the wee sunglasses thing beside the steering wheel, it's not in the centre armrest/cupholders/coinholder cubbies, it's not in any of the door bins - am I missing anywhere I might have chucked it?! biglaugh

Had a look down the side of the seats and can't see it, but there is a lot of metal/wires under those things!

Sounds more like human error than a volvo error.

Took delivery of my D4 R Design today after a few issues with one dealer, but well worth the wait and much better than my old Insignia. Only question is how do I resolve this issue with connecting to my home WiFi?

I'm no network engineer, but it looks like your router is set up to use WPA encryption and the car wants you to change it to WPA2 before it's able to connect.

You'll need to use a web browser on your phone/pc to login to the router and change the setting. It'll probably be pretty easy (drop down list, check box etc.). A quick Google of your router make/model should return the login id and password to access the settings - usually something rubbish like 'admin' 'admin' or 'admin' 'password'.

You'll also need to find out your router's IP address. The 'standard' address for most routers (but by no means always) is 192.168.1.1 - type this into the address bar of your web browser and hit enter when your device is connected to the router.

That's why I'm asking humans and not Volvo. Where's the phone?!

Found it! At the cost of bursting the arse of my trousers...

Turns out the seat rails are raised off the floor just enough to fit an iPhone between the rail and the floor - although still close enough to hold it fairly tightly so as I ran my hand along it just felt like part of a bracket or something.

I now live in hope that one day in like 10 years or whatever, someone replies to this post thanking me for helping to find their iPhone 20.

Thanks, this worked. Only issue now is that it's saying the update is too large plus my home phone (android) doesn't enable connection to my Volvo.

I've done nearly 300 miles since yesterday and think the car is great. So glad I waited for the car to finally arrive...

What are you trying to update? I've not seen anything like that. I just connected the car to my phone using mobile hotspot to download Spotify, TuneIn, etc. Didn't try anything further than that really.

This is a maps update - i had the same thing and the full EU map set is 46gb. I just updated the UK map as only had a 32gb pendrive to hand but you have to use an app on your pc and a usb drive.

Once all downloaded and on the pen drive you plug it into the car and leave it a good while. Took perhaps 30-40 mins in the car to load the files and then said to leave it after the car turned off to complete. Was done the next time i started the car. The only frustrating thing is that i still get the 'updates available' message because the other countries haven't been updated yet. Will probably update them all at some point just to make that message go away!

You download the software needed from here: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/downloads/dow...
