Ordered an S90 D5 Inscription through Jet, pretty great deal with all the extras included
4-Zone climate Control
Headlight Cleaners
Active Bending Headlights
Keyless Drive & Entry
Rear Park Camera
Autodim Exterior Mirrors
3 months upfront, 20000 miles over 2 years at £309 a month. Not that keen on the wheels but no big deal.
Haven’t got the reg to check insurance but just wondering if the fact they were intended for the Irish market will be a problem?

I checked with jet before I ordered my Irish car. As they never left they country they are not classed as imports so will be insured as a uk car. 4-Zone climate Control

Great thanks, can’t wait for it to arrive now. Test drove the D4 Momentum and was impressed though I was bit suprised at the level of road noise. Wasn’t on the best of roads tbf. cainam said:

I get my d5 tomorrow. I remember when I got my last car my dad asked me if I test drove it first. My response "of course I have. Who would buy a car without test driving it "Well that's now me! Sat in one but not driven it. I'm confident I will like it.

V90 T4 on the way without ever having driven it
Never, ever done this before but I have at least sat in one at the showroom
It was a Momentum and felt lovely so Im hoping my Inscription is even better
Over the summer I have driven a 520d and an XF R Sport estate neither of which were as nice inside as the V90 and neither of which compensated with any welly through the wheels. The XF interior feels like a museum in comparison.
If I had found a 530d at the prices they were at Easter Id have gone for that however Im really looking forwards to 18 months wafting in Santanders finest without the worry of having to race anybody from the traffic lights.
Barge love to all of you here
Cheers
I'm ok with the barge love. Most of my driving is pretty sedate now on a or m roads. I average 48mpg from my 335d. It's nice to have the power to pull out of turnings/roundabout and overtaking. But I generally stick to about 65mph when I'm driving from place to place for work. I don't rush around like a rally driver any more. I may arrive 10 mins later, but I still get home on time!
Only a few hours to go before I get a new shiny toy.

Well you do get used to the lack oooomph in these "barges" in day to day driving. There are times when putting your foot down results in a frustrating lack of go and the gearbox needs to be taken outside and shot, but 90% of the time it's fine and the interior makes up for it.
I too ordered having never driven or Sat in one until after the order was placed.

Quick question.....
Selecting between park drive reverse etc seems quite clunky. Not as smooth as I've had before. Feels like I'm forcing it.
And when I got out of the car after a short journey there was an odd smell! Not a particularly nice smell!
Any thoughts?
I’ve noticed the same. Far clunkier than the 5 series. That said I’ve been in an Outlander recently so could be worse!Selecting between park drive reverse etc seems quite clunky. Not as smooth as I've had before. Feels like I'm forcing it.

After 2,500 miles my Cross Country Pro T6 is finally showing over 30mpg at times. Definitely seems to take a bit of running in to get sensible economy; when it arrived it averaged about 23mpg, I noticed the improvement to 25mpg and it seems to be up to 27mpg or so now - that includes plenty of round town stuff.
Allowing the speed to creep substantially over 80mph on the motorway harms economy quite a bit.

I've not noticed any clunkiness in the gear shift in my D4. Our other car is a Peugeot 5008 that's auto, but the stick just returns to the centre after pushing up or down for forward/reverse so it has no resistance at all - I've never noticed any relative resistance or notchiness in the Volvo selector.
I was one of the lucky people to get the jet s90 deal - D5 r design with extra bits n bobs.
Being delivered on the 24th as I have been on holiday in the states.
Unbelievably my hire car for the last 2 and a half weeks has been an s90 t6 petrol momentum.
It does have lot of the options mine won't have, panoramic sunroom, 360 parking cameras but the interior is not as nice as the r design.
Great long distance cruiser, bargy suspension, very comfy.
Gearbox is poor, 95% ok until you ask for more ponies.
Sat nav has been fine in the USA.
And HUGE!
I am hoping my r design is a little more engaging to drive though it's clearly no sports version.
All in I have enjoyed it, not sure it is quite a merc/btw alternative but it was a very cheap deal.

Evening all, also managed to secure a decent deal on a D4 Momentum being delivered in December.
Interested to know how easy it is to enable Carplay after I get hold of it?
I've read here that they just "enable" it via a VIDA download. https://accessories.volvocars.com/en-se/S90(17-)/A...
Do you think any Volvo garages would do it if I bung a techy £50 or something?
£300 seems steep to just enable a bit of software.

Carplay is licensed, a bit like Microsoft Windows, the dealer has to pay a premium to actually enable it via a product key.Interested to know how easy it is to enable Carplay after I get hold of it?
