I to am underwhelmed by the interior lighting. The small changeable light in the roof barely makes any difference. Compared to my wife's old mini which was much better.

Also surprise there are no lights from outside door handles for when you unlock car at night, puddle lights I think they are called? The mini used to display the mini badge on the floor which was pretty cool.

All minor things really. Car is still very good.
I'm sure mine has lights in the door exterior handle recess??

If anyone is looking for a cheap deal contract cars currently have S90 T4 Momentum for £155 excl vat and S90 T4 R Design for £164 excl VAT. Also available for personals rentals just stick VAT on top.

Got my V90 D4 Momentum last week. Glad it’s the 2019 model with on call and bigger digital dash. Great so far, just a couple of issues with re-downloading some apps that weren’t working.

Collected mine yesterday morning from my local; R-Design D4, Osmium Grey.

Love it so far. Only disappointing thing is the interior lighting, it's certainly not as good as competitors... makes up for it with all the other tech though. Seats are very comfortable, by far the most comfy I've had in any car. Happy days so far...

Looks good, nice to see one on 18s my D5 is on the similarly designed 21s.

Has anybody else noticed vibrations when at around 70 with these wheels? I’ve had the tyres balanced and doesn’t seem to make a difference.

I am thinking when these tyres are up of getting some 18s as it may smooth the ride out plus the tyres are cheaper especially as I do over 20kpa.

Interested to hear peoples experiences.

Santander update:

Like a few of you I have wondered about the easy going attitude of Santander but fear not!
Having not really being able to get a decent delivery window from them, let alone a mountain of papers to sign, I popped into the dealer they've nominated for me this morning.

Surprisingly I got the full on new customer treatment with coffee and biccies whilst the nice man booted up his laptop and showed me the tracking status of 'my' car and when it will arrive with them. They even offered to collect me when its ready - a 20 mile round trip for them.

Very impressive.

Cheers

Had my D5 R Design for a week.

It's lovely and was a bargain from Jet Finance.

Who's going to admit to giving me car envy on the m6 today? Lovely v90 R design in a silver / grey reg ending SKV? Awesome having another v90 car buddy given I see so few of them about.

Not sure if it's a pro model with the bendy lights like mine but your driver side light seemed a little high (but that might be by design?!).. not sure if mine was the same for you? It also struck me how much the Thors hammer drl silhouette gets lost when the headlights are on.. certainly doesn't stand out like some other marques ... But maybe that's a good thing! 😉

Hi Guys,

Thinking of going for one of these and can find some pretty good deals on the momentum just now via CHL. I’d rather go for a diesel on economy alone, can anyone tell me the real world economy they are getting ?

Best Value deal I have found is The 1+17 for £285 with 10k PA. 1+35 is £292, but guess it would mean 3 services as opposed to 1, so seems to be a no brainier to give it back after 18mths, unless I’m missing something.

Thanks for any help.

Any idea what the charges are for a curbed wheel? Not too badly curved but pretty sure it will get billed.

Does anyone else find the visibility hard when parallel parking?

Doesnt the diesel have long service intervals?

Couldn’t find much info on it, but from Volvo website

What are the servicing requirements?
Volvo servicing is carried out at 12 monthly, 12,500 or 18,000 mile intervals – whichever occurs first. Please refer to your Volvo Service handbook for your specific vehicle requirements

So presumed it was yearly. I stand to be corrected.

My research suggests all V90 and XC90 models have fixed yearly servicing
(And if I were to guess so does every other Volvo)

From memory years 2 and 4 are over double the cost of years 1 and 3

So my 18 month contract makes a lot of sense

It is annual so that 18month deal does look good. Would be worth asking how much adding maintenance is as well so your spreading the cost of that one service over the 18months.

Mines not run in yet. Only got about 2000 miles on the clock. I'm getting about 45mpg on long runs and taking it easy. Don't do much town driving but would only expect about 35. My previous car improved after a few more miles but wouldnt expect much more than 47-50 with real world driving.

Hi all,

I'm getting my V60 next month. Has anyone got any comments on the lights now it's getting dark? Is the full beam effective? I assume the 90 and 60 series share the same lights.

Thanks

Tom

Mine's a Cross Country Pro so has the active bending LED lights and a higher ride height, so I can't be sure how much of my experience is applicable to other V90s let alone a V60. But here goes:
- The bending dipped beams work well. I've had BMW and Merc active xenons before and they also worked well; I like bending lights.
- The high beam is great. It turns the bending off, so if you dip the lights in the middle of a corner it can cut off what feels like quite a lot of the light.
- The dipped beams are aimed a little bit low. I imagine that can be adjusted but haven't investigated.
- The auto-dipping high beam is atrocious, but I've never used one that's any good so I just ignore it.
- It's hard to tell whether the dipped beams have come on in auto headlight mode. The headlight icon in the dash is constantly lit when you have it in auto mode, and the LCD dash and centre display are both always lit. The nav display turns to white on black when it gets dark, but that isn't necessarily when it turns on the headlights. The displays dim at some point (if you have the little scroll wheel dimmer turned down), which may coincide with the lights coming on but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.

ETA, because I've just remembered these too:
- The indicators are so bright you can see them reflecting off signs etc when they're flashing laugh
- There are also low speed cornering lights (in the foglight housing) which aren't really necessary but you can perceive them coming on when it's really dark.

My v90 D4 is only 1,100 miles old but can easily get 50mpg on the motorway in my 32 mile commute. Taking it really easily with the cruise set to 65 and in eco mode I got 63mpg this morning and that even includes coming to a stop 3 times to change motorway/dual carriageway.

I have bendy headlights on my S90 and honestly I love them! They work really well. I also have the auto dipping high beam and that also works really well for me, it only shuts off what's necessary (so some of the high beams (passenger side) remain on when auto dipped where they won't blind the oncoming car).

For info, when the auto beam goes from high beam to dipped it's pretty obvious from the light output but also the light icon on the dash changes from blue (when high beam on) to white. I agree the low cornering lights do nothing.

I would never order bendy headlights but I really like them, as I do the keyless and keyless powered boot opening (remembering where to 'kick' under the bumper to open and close the boot takes a bit of getting used to) but the 4 zone climate is a bit of a waste of time and I'd be disappointed if I'd paid extra for it in all honesty.
