The Volvo S90/V90 lease thread
Discussion
Did a 45 mile round trip yesterday, majority of that on the motorway and after resetting the trip, I managed 30.7mpg from our t4.
With the sort of driving I did, I would've expected circa 40mpg really.
I really don't know why it's so bad on fuel. Its no heavier than similar cars (I assume) and its not exactly a powerful engine.
Can't wait to get rid, sadly the e pace deals came out when the car got delivered otherwise I would've gone with that.
£400 a month plus about £30 a month in electric instead of £315 and £180+ in fuel.

Based on 12k miles over 18 months, comparing 30mpg petrol priced at 125p and 45mpg diesel at 135p, my calculations suggest that a T4 would cost £642 (£35pm) more in fuel compared to a D4.
The best deal I can find on a T4 is £30pm cheaper than the D4, so overall running a T4 would cost an additional £5pm.
Cost being fairly equal then, would you agree that the T4 is a nicer drive?

I'd wager in the sort of driving where you'd get 45 out of the diesel you'd get more than 30 out of the petrol.
Commute is 10 miles comprising approx 3 miles in town and the remainder at steady 40 - 60mph. There is also a fair bit of ferrying the kids about town.Approx once a month I do longer trips of either a 200 miles or 400 miles.
30mpg is based on the comments of T4 owners here. 45mpg is based on my current VW Passat estate in mixed town and longer journeys.

Sorry thought you were comparing with the D4.
Managed 38mpg tonight back from work, highest yet, eco mode definitely makes a difference.
Thank you. From what you and others have said it seems like 30-35mpg is achieveable in the T4 which will do me fine. Although I’m still tempted by the T5 cross country deals for just £15pm more than a T4.Managed 38mpg tonight back from work, highest yet, eco mode definitely makes a difference.

I'd suspect so. That 38 is with me trying pretty hard- without turning off A/C and heated seats etc. though.Going by the eco rev counter that appears in eco mode, 55mph seems to be the speed of choice for max efficiency.

Looks good! Do you find there’s much of a white outline at the back windows/rear screen with the aftermarket tint? I’ve seen a couple with tints fitted and it’s really noticeable!
No white outline on rears. They were done to factory spec tint and the dealer encouraged me to use the company as I think £300 option with VolvoGassing Station | Volvo & Polestar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
