It's good to read everyone is ok and it looks like the V90 is sturdy beast. TBF I don't think many car front ends stand up well in a collision. I was rear ended by a fiesta many years ago. My bumper had a small crack yet his front end was a wreck.

May I be the first to suggest...

I presume you mean not very confident, haha! Welcome to the club!

Seems to be a lot of us scheduled for around the 24th May. One poster already confirmed it has been delayed, one booked in for collection next week and I haven't heard back from my dealer yet...

I would as I've just been in touch with mine - now expected in the country on the 24th of May and for handover on 30th May at the earliest.

I posted just further up but here is my newly amended list of dates:

Ordered on 9th October and advised 6 months wait:

Told “end of March” - missed

Told 18th April - missed

Told 24th April - missed

Told 23rd/24th May - missed

Told 30th/31st May - Let's see...

Let me know what your dealer says when you get in touch if you can.

Fingers crossed for you. Wonder if I’ve just been unlucky and not had mine loaded? I’m checking with the dealer that it is indeed at the port (which the screenshot he sent me appears to indicate).

The system only updated to show that it was delayed yesterday. Shipping (as shown by a previous poster) is on a Thursday evening overnight, so guess they’d know from the manifest then?

I’m bloody obsessed but it’s driven by built up annoyance, haha!

When you lay the dates out like that, it doesn't half look bad.

Have dealers offered anything in recompense for all the delays?

Yeah I know, gives me little confidence it will make the next delivery slot as it is so frequent.

I’m getting a full tank of fuel but that’s all confirmed so far. Trying to get the service pack which might not be available to PCH customers for £399 as I’ll definitely hit the mileage for a second service in 24 months unfortunately, so I don’t think I can play the game and avoid the expensive second service.

I’m also trying to get them to guarantee they’ll honour around the quote from the Volvo site on my part-ex which is depreciating constantly with the delays.

Was toying with trying to get the charge of Car Play knocked off but that might be pushing them too far seeing as it is quite a cheap deal anyway.

Pick mine up next Thursday (stock car, so already here), quite excited.

I've leased before but only cheap snotboxes, would people recommend a gap policy?

If so, with who?

If with Santander and you've put nothing down as an initial, then no, not worth it. If you've stumped up some cash then probably.

This is the general consensus. Not because the insurance won't settle with funder, but just to protect your own investment.

Spotted a T5 Ocean Race on the M5 earlier - I hadn’t realised they came with anything but the T6 engine, and I know they’re no longer listed now the spec has changed to Plus for new orders. Quite nice, but I preferred the old blue Ocean Race V70s and XC90s. Probably quite rare, anyway.

I saw at least 2 V90 CC Ocean Race editions down in Portland back in Easter, I think Volvo are involved in sponsorship for the sailing....

Everyone says this but my terms say if the car is a write off then I owe Santander Finance half of the remaining payments. So £130 odd quid seems like a reasonable precaution?

I should probably clarify - I'm with Santander Finance having ordered through a dealer not a direct Santander 1-2-3 deal so terms may differ...

That's the same as me. Having read a few debates on this thread about it, I don't know if I'm going to go for it. I'm putting £1,250 against it, the majority of which is coming from my part ex.

I don't know if it is worth spending about 15% of that again to get £1,000 in what should be a very unlikely scenario. It's all a gamble of course. If I was putting £2,000 or £3,000 down then I'd probably go for it. This is my understanding and interpretation of it - it may not be correct so I'm happy for someone more clued up to set the record straight or tell me I'm wrong in my thinking!

If say, the cost is about £100 then would you buy a raffle ticket for £100 where the top prize is only £1250.

Most of my leases have had minimal up front payments so I never bothered to look into it until my previous one which was 9 up front. I spent a bit of time reading experiences people had where they had suffered a total loss and none of them that I found had to pay anything to the lease company. In all instances (that I found) the lease company and the insurer sorted it out between themselves and lease holder was left to pick up a new deal. As mentioned, it is possible to cover an up front payment as well as an add on to the basic cover but to me the risk vs the premium just did not measure up.

Just my opinions and based on no expertise other than time to kill and using google to search for others experiences.
