They would not let me purchase it at 399 only option was to add to lease costs. £399 price if private purchase only (thats what they told me) I didn't push it I wasn't that fussed. Im 12k pa for 3 years so service pack was a bargain.
That's interesting. I'll push but if they insist then I'll accept if they will only offer it that way. Hoping I can still take advantage of it since it's a 3 year offer but I've only got it for 24 months.

Further advice in the Best Lease Deals thread suggests the T4 engine service interval is every year or 18,000 miles. Maybe I will not bother with the service pack then and play the delay game...

FYI - Have a look at the Volvo insurance we took the free 5 day cover, then they quoted us a year at a very competitive price compared to web comparison sites. In addition they offer new for old replacement in the 1st 12 months so in the worst event - no gap insurance required !! (for the 1st 12 months anyway). Im no small print expert but it seemed good to me, in addition the price was as good as i could get anywhere else anyway.

Yes - I have been given a Volvo insurance quote that looks quite good on the face of it, particuarly if you factor in £100 I wouldn't have to spend on GAP insurance (which I'm undecided with anyway and is extra hassle). Do you know if they allow monthly payments (I will enquire if I can't see anything in the T&Cs - appreciate that will make the overall cost rise). My registration isn't being recognised by the insurance comparison sites yet unfortunately.

Have a look at AvivaPlus for insurance.
If you go though TopCashback you can reduce the price by £50. Free monthly payments and mine worked out about half the cost (£200 vs. £400) of the Volvo price.

(Welcome to use my TopCashback referral if you don't already have an account) smile

That looks a nice place to be - looking forward to being there on Monday! What is the ride like? I've gone for R Design which I've heard a few people say that is' a bit nosier and stiffer when compared with the Momentum due to the suspension. Can anyone give me a real world report? And how much putting it in comfort helps with this?

I'm coming from an 11 year old Mini Cooper, so I somehow imagine the difference between the two won't be quite as obvious as someone who is used to a more refined ride (my friends 7 series is very quiet)!

Thanks for that, I'll have a proper look through it all next week. In general, my annual prices are around £600 by the looks of it, or about £55 a month (with a double payment at the start). Twice as much as I currently pay for the Mini!

So they do exist: mine turned up! Very nice too though not much time driving it yet.

Adaptive Cruise is weird enough, god knows what Pilot Assist must be like smile

Crikey £600 insurance. Have you tried LV. Last renewal it was only £480 for my Golf R and my wife's 911 both combined on a multicar deal. Now we are old and wrinkly 50 year olds but surely £600 is a bit much.

It’s not great is it! I’m 34, which I don’t consider young, and have had a license since I was 17. Have 11 years no claims, named driver on another car and no points/courses or accidents. Currently live in West Yorkshire (moving to edge of Manchester soon) which won’t help.

My Dad used to help by being a named driver as he was an advanced driving instructor but he’s retired now. Can’t seem to get a good quote from anyone.

Yes they did offer me monthly payment option, it did carry a premium on the total cost.

It is. And Savile Grey on the old shape XC60 to the right as a point of reference. Osmium is way lighter, almost silver. I really like it in the flesh.

Great - I’ve ordered Osmium and I’m glad that’s how it compares to Savile. I like the off silver, chrome style colour that still shows the line of the car.

Aviva cheapest for me as well when I've done quotes and on my current car. In fact we've even moved our second car over to start a multicar policy they've been that cheap recently.

Also I think with that avivaplus they say you're premium will never go up at renewal (if you stay claim free of course).

Just been sent a nice little video from the dealer confirming the car has been prepped, filled with fuel and is ready for Monday. What a tease!

Yeah, thanks, I’m really chuffed. It’s a nice combination of silver and grey - not too light and not too dark.

Bursting Blue was my first choice but it was either a £1,000 cost option or not available on the R design, I can’t remember which.
